National Grid’s contractor, NEUCO, will be mobilizing to #SalemMA to replace the gas main on Harbor Street (including the intersections where Salem Street and Park Street meet Harbor Street) starting the week of January 2, 2023.

The scope of work includes the installation of new plastic gas main & installation of new plastic services for residents and businesses of the area.
The area that will be directly affected by the gas main replacement is: 5 to 73 Harbor St (including 1-6 Salem St & 1-6 Park St)

Start date: week of January 2nd
Duration: approximately 7 weeks, weather permitting
Work hours will be 7:00AM to 3:30PM weekdays, no work weekends or holidays. Police details will be present at all times to facilitate traffic management.

Starting the week of November 28, National Grid’s contractor (McCourt Construction) is expected to begin excavation for manhole installation on Bridge Street, between Ames Street and the Essex Bridge. Work will take place between 7:00 am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
