THE FUNNY HE-SHE LADIES! was a 2023 Academy Nicholl finalist. A dramedy based on the Boulton and Park crossdressing scandal of 1870-71. Their trial became a cause célèbre that implicated London’s high society and marked the first recorded use of the term “drag.”
