For #EndangeredSpeciesDay, a type of shark I had no idea existed until very recently: the daggernose shark (Carcharhinus oxyrhynchus). This is a super weird, poorly known requiem shark that is Critically Endangered. I'm not sure if it's ever been photographed alive/underwater

A re-analysis of Spinosaur skull fossils has found osteological correlates for the salt gland in birds and marine iguanas. This helps provide more support for their near-marine lifestyles. It would've been weird if they didn't have this.
