Winter Symposium 2023 is live! This is our 4th Winter Symposium, 3-days of presentations, industry & enterprise networking, careers panel & 100 PhD students showcasing their research. #believeinscience#datascience#phd
Prof Jerome Neufeld (Cambridge) opened the talks with a presentation on CO2 storage dynamics of pressure, on day 2 of our workshop "Mathematical Modelling of Carbon Capture and Storage" (UCD, 5-6 December 2022, supported by funding from the HEA) @UCDMathStat@UCD_Research
The fourth talk of day 2 -and final talk of the workshop- was given by Prof. Tom Manzocchi (University College Dublin), on his work on subsurface geological modelling for flow simulation applications. It was great to learn that the faults have a fractal dimension of about 2.6.
In summary, this 2-day workshop on CCS was a great experience for faculty and students alike! A great line up of speakers: @GrahamPBenham , @_AlbaCC , @The_ScienceCat , Tim Myers, Jerome Neufeld, Duncan Hewitt and Tom Manzocchi. Thanks and see you soon! @UCDEarth@UCDMathStat
We had a full house at our workshop "Mathematical Modelling of Carbon Capture and Storage" (UCD Dublin, 5-6 December 2022, supported by funding from the HEA)
Prof Jerome Neufeld (Cambridge) and Dr Graham Benham (Oxford) @GrahamPBenham gave us on-the-whiteboard tutorials on modelling of flows in porous media, thus closing day 1 of the workshop!
Dr Alba Cabrera @_AlbaCC illuminated us on CO2 capture experiments, giving the second talk of our workshop "Mathematical Modelling of Carbon Capture and Storage" (UCD, 5-6 December 2022, supported by funding from the HEA) @UCDMathStat@UCD_Research
