One of the men who has been most influential in my life as a Christian is a direct descendant of the tribal chief that had the missionary killed and eaten. Amazing to see how radically and beautifully the Gospel changes the world.

Before Western missionaries arrived in Fiji natives:
- Were cannibals
- Strangled widows
- Performed child sacrifice
Then Western missionaries arrived and began preaching the Gospel
Slowly villages would convert and become a safe haven
But then the natives killed and ate one of the missionaries for “offending them”
All that was left were his leather sandals which are on display in a Fiji museum today
The missionaries begged the British to take over and put a stop to all the savagery
Britain took Fiji as a colony and banned such horrors under colonial rule 1/3

My “forgetful” grandmother kept asking how I was in my 30’s and had never had a gf at Christmas dinner.
Threw my fork at her stupid head the third time and my douchebag uncle physically attacked me even though I missed.
But yeah, other than that my Christmas was great. Thanks.

It was to win a championship stupid. There will be yet another flag over Sanford next season because the Dawgs are CHAMPIONS. That means more than any playoff win other than the title.
