This will mark the first activation of our new Emergency Operations Center. Within the next hour, the center will be fully staffed with representatives from our public safety and public works teams, along with our municipal partners and local utilities.
By repurposing this downtown space, we are able to bring everyone together in one place, allowing for clear communication and coordinated decision-making should ice accumulation or related impacts occur. The EOC is directly connected to the State Operations Center and provides real-time weather updates and GDOT information, ensuring our field units receive timely, accurate guidance.
Through this close coordination with local and state partners, our focus is on delivering an efficient, well-organized response to whatever conditions may develop. The Emergency Operations Center will remain operational throughout the duration of the event.
Please stay safe, and plan to be home before weather conditions deteriorate.
