NEW STORY: My @SASonSI debut!
"We ARE crazy, Hispanic (Spurs) fans, and we won’t apologize for it." - @duncandarlin21
My story on how Spurs fans gave a whole new meaning to #PorVida and turned what had been meant as an insult into something stronger. si.com/nba/spurs/onsi/news/c…
De’Aaron Fox will be a Spur in October, I’m almost certain of it. People seem to quickly forget what he did in Game 7 in OKC.
Although with that said, this was a rough Finals for him. But I imagine anyone dealing with a high ankle sprain would struggle.
Mitch did shake Brunson’s hand and Mike Brown and his staff. I do agree on your first point.
The second point, I’m sure he did say that. But they are a young team and old habits die hard
Two things
1. He should’ve done a “Pop” and told his team regardless of what happens .. and the end of every series you go and shake the opponents hand. It’s called “class”
2. He refuses to tell the team to stop shooting 3s
Okay let’s stop this. Mitch Johnson isn’t going to be fired and he shouldn’t be. Yes, he made some questionable decisions, but he led this team to a 62 win season and NBA Finals appearance in his first full year.
Fans will complain as usual but get used to seeing him on the sideline next season because he’ll be right there.
"We weren’t ready to win an NBA championship."
The Spurs' season ended Saturday as inexperience and growing pains showed, giving a storybook ending that belonged to New York.
The future still looks bright in San Antonio.

NBA now belongs to the Spurs. The lessons that will come out of this loss will haunt the league for years to come.
Spurs winning 3 of next 4 NBA championships.
Wembanyama on what he learned from these NBA Finals: "One of many things I learned is the margin of error is very, very thin... We absolutely, absolutely dominated for most of the series, but our mistakes are punished so hard."
Wembanyama: "I don't think we could have learned more and gained more experience in one playoff run and in one season."
Wemby adds for him personally the 2025-26 season has been hard and full of lessons.
Wembanyama on the NBA Finals being a moment to learn: "This doesn't compare to anything before, this is the biggest lesson of my life, the biggest learning moment."
This being the worst the Spurs will be for the next 10 years is a scary thing for the rest of the NBA. As @zachmontana210 and @SlvrBlkCoffeeHr boys said, "good luck to the NBA next season with Wemby wanting to avenge a bad Finals run.
Vassell on his message to the fans: "I just want to say thank you to them, because without them, and the noise, and them having our backs, we're not in this situation, we're not in this position."
