To see this very mechanism in action, just look at comic book writers who only read comic books.
There is a massive, unbridgeable gap between Marx and Engels' omnivorous study habits or Lenin's declaration that, "You can become a Communist only when you enrich your mind with a knowledge of all the treasures created by mankind," and dogmatic "Marxists" who only read Marxists.

That being said, everyone should catch up on their Marxist reading. We can tell when you haven't.

BREAKING: Tens of thousands rally in Havana in defense of RaΓΊl Castro. Cubans are accusing the US of using the indictment as "pretext" for a military attack. They say they don't want a conflict, but they're willing to fight to defend the country. πŸŽ₯@ldejesusreyes

You're about to hear a lot of ignorant comparisons of Garden Grove to Chernobyl that conveniently leave out the fact that the USSR relocated every Chernobyl survivor and gave them housing for free for life. Imagine the US doing that.

the most progressive thing a liberal comics writer can think of is adding a Milestone character to the team right before they’re sent off to settle β€œrising tensions” in a region beset by American imperialism
Static is joining the New Titans!! "The story kicks off as Static crosses paths with Jon Kent at Mount Titans just as an emissary from Wonder Girl’s tribe arrives with troubling news from the Amazon rainforests of Brazil. Yara Flor is called into action as the Titans prepare for a dangerous new mission tied to a growing threat in the region. As tensions rise within the team, Static finds himself stepping into a volatile situation where the Titans are already being pushed to their limits". Via:(aiptcomics.com/2026/05/22/st…)

For anyone who enjoyed this special episode, I highly recommend this resource. It spans both men's careers, but it covers the absolute extremes of Marx's in particular. His early (almost pre-communist) analysis is still spot on when it comes to the human condition.

It's also funny, because everyone talks about how opaque Marx's writing is, but every work I have by him opens with a much less navigable forward written by someone way farther up their own ass than Marx ever was. This book is no exception.
