SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, California Charter Schools Association President and CEO Myrna Castrejón issued the following statement regarding the appointment of Assembymember Patel, whose district spans northern San Diego County, as Chair pf the Assembly Education Committee:
“On behalf of the California Charter Schools Association and the more than 700,000 students enrolled in charter public schools across the state, we congratulate Assemblymember Dr. Darshana R. Patel on her appointment as Chair of the Assembly Education Committee. With her experience as a research scientist, former school board president, and longtime advocate for educational equity, Dr. Patel brings deep expertise and a strong commitment to student success. We look forward to working with her leadership to strengthen public education and ensure all California students have access to high-quality learning opportunities.”
