CAPCOG's Executive Committee said a hopefully short-term goodbye to Dr. Steve Hougen, former Mayor Pro Tem of Granite Shoals, last week. Dr. Hougen was term-limited and could not run again during the city's May elections.

He had served on the CAPCOG board since 2024 and quickly became a board officers, where he provided budget guidance and more. Member representatives such as Dr. Hougen, give a lot to their community and the region through their volunteer service.

There has been a lot of work around the region preparing for today's statewide, local emergency alerts test. It will start soon, but the work is never ending. CAPCOG works year round with its members & other local governments to practice drafting & sending emergency notifications
