1/4. “For the Least Developed Countries, the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance (#NCQG) is part of our survival. Our communities on the front lines are facing the adverse impacts of #ClimateChange on a daily basis.” The @LDCChairUNFCCC, Evans Nijewa.
As #SB60 kicks off, I joined @AOSISChair to stress that the new #ClimateFinance goal must cover mitigation, adaptation, and loss & damage. It should ensure equitable access for LDCs. The old $100B target is insufficient. Developed countries must lead in providing these funds.
Join @CASAclimate at #SB60 in Bonn from June 3-13 to follow discussions on #climatefinance & progress towards a new goal that will address Article 2.1 C of the Paris Agreement – to make sure that there is enough money to do what needs to be done to build resilience.
