Today's Words of Wisdom from Frank Herbert - "I don't worry about inspiration or anything like that.... later, coming back and reading what I have produced, I am unable to detect the difference between what came easily and when I had to sit down and say, 'Well, now it's writing time and now I'll write.'"

Today I'm with changemakers @utilitiesweek talking about the transformation we need to deliver inclusive support for all. I want us to connect with others to generate the innovation we need by sharing what we stand for and who we stand with. #vulnerabilityanddebt

Who do I stand with?   I stand with those facing barriers - those who experience the inequities we witness every day. And I stand with changemakers, advocates, and innovators who commit your time to building a world where everyone has a chance.   #vulnerabilityanddebt

Unpaid carers should not be “the system” - but they are. Health & social care has failed leaving unpaid carers picking up all the pieces Yes, they can do a certain amount of hours care a week but there should be a max amount of hours not a never ending amount

As ever straight to the point - at no point in my decades of energy policy under Lab, Con and Coalition Govs did I hear anywhere near the level of ambition needed to target the desperately needed price support in the energy market. It’s not an optional part of the RBT debate ✅
Allowance approach is difficult because suppliers don't hold data on things like household size, income, thermal efficiency of housing stock (i.e. how much is needed to adequately heat building). Some of those data items are fluid too (household composition can rapidly change).

I hope the BBC reflect on how their normalisation of Farage during the election helped to enable this, and I hope that Ofcom reflect on how their utter failure to effectively regulate GB News has helped to further fuel the situation.

Far-right agitators don’t care about working class people or our communities. They haven’t been running the foodbanks, haven’t been campaigning against the 14yrs of cuts, they’ve been nowhere when people are sanctioned or skint. They are racist, shameless political opportunists.

The week has been hard. The violence and racism unfolding on our streets has been abhorrent and painful to watch. Thinking of all my fellow people of colour right now - especially Muslim communities - who have to live in a heightened sense of fear. #Riots 💔

It's heartbreaking to see this. Repairing the physical damage in Sunderland will be a huge job but what's really important is the services they provide. The wonderful team at @sunderlandCAB are determined to continue being there for the community - they will need all our support
Last night Citizens Advice Sunderland's office was badly damaged following riots in the city. We're working with the team in Sunderland to provide support to them and help them be there for the people who need advice going forward. Our services are closed on weekends (1/2)

Well, I've fulfilled a personal ambition and finally played Warren G, Regulate to a Teams call full of regulators. @chris_fitch I hope that will now be the official Vulnerability Academy theme tune.

When Boris Johnson left office, many said “at least he did the best anyone could for Covid.” This inquiry shows how from reality that narrative was. Thousands of people needlessly lost their lives, many of them disabled. And the Tories got busy selling contracts to mates.
UK government and devolved nations "failed their citizens" with Covid causing more deaths than it should have, inquiry says bbc.in/3WsQ8lO

I know Just Stop Oil aren't everyone's cup of tea these days, but should we be worried that people are being jailed for five and four years because of an entirely non-violent protest? I think we probably should. theguardian.com/environment/…
