Alex Pretti, the man who was killed by Border Patrol in Minneapolis on Saturday, was seen reading a final salute to a veteran who died in 2024 in a video shared by the service member's son. Pretti, 37, was an intensive care nurse at a Veterans Affairs hospital who cared deeply about people and was upset by President Trump's immigration crackdown in his city, family members said. Pretti was a U.S. citizen, born in Illinois. "Never wanted to share this video but his speech is very on point," Mac Rudolph wrote on social media. "Also my Fathers final words to me was to continue to fight the good fight. He would be honored in Alex' sacrifice, and ashamed of this current administration." The Department of Homeland Security said the agent acted in self-defense after attempting to disarm Pretti, but Minnesota Gov.
