Time spent with kids is always productive. Events last week gave me time to meet the children of my colleagues. I continue to be amazed by the inquisitive nature of our younger generations, how in their play they seek knowledge, how in their social interactions they learn to be polite, how in the metes & bounds set by their parents they face tolerable risks while remaining protected. Our kids today remind me that we owe them a better future & that our work truly matters in the realest sense of the word. @NYCPilipinas @CCCPHL

Today, @CCCPHL welcomed June at our flag raising ceremony, anticipating celebrations for PH’s ID128th, Environment Month, Flag Days, Philippine Eagle Week, World Sea Turtle Day, Arbor Day & Araw ng Maynila. We also observed ASEAN unity. More & more, we are aware of how interconnected we all are, in the celebrations we observe, the identities we preserve, the causes we advance & the shared sense of responsibility for each other, in the Philippines, in ASEAN and beyond. @Manila @PIA_NCR @PhilEagleFdn @UNEP @ASEAN @SFFI1948

Thank you for joining us in person, Ambassador @knez_s! ASEAN & the EU truly have shared strategic interests that underscore the need for more meaningful collaboration. Beyond ambition and aspiration, the discipline to produce results where they matter. @CCCPHL
Feeling privileged to be invited, as the 🇸🇮Ambassador to @ASEAN, to the highly timely inaugural EU-ASEAN Sustainability Summit. “Transforming resilience into jobs and economic growth” is an excellent sum-up of current challenges by #Stratbase. @eccponline @EUinthePH

Thank you, @dabbadie ! It was good to see you in the audience and to fid our our discussions resonated with you and @FAO. Toward partnerships that work. @CCCPHL
When two major economic blocs, #EU & #ASEAN come together with the ambition to shape the world’s most sustainable framework for cooperation and shared prosperity, @FAO supports the dialogue on resilient agrifood systems withstanding climate shocks, pandemics & market disruptions.

As we commemorate Labor Day, let us remember for who and why. May we continue to pursue a just transition towards a more resilient, sustainable, low carbon economy with the Filipino - particularly our labourers - firmly at the core of our efforts. Everyone moving ahead. No one left behind. 🇵🇭💪 @CCCPHL @doleph @ILOManila

PH’s very first NAP was completed & submitted to the @UNFCCC in 2024. Using a whole of society approach, localisation is now under way by @CCCPHL & relevant government agencies, with support of key development partners. The work continues. 🇵🇭💪
What are National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and why do they matter ❓ NAPs help countries adapt to climate change by strengthening infrastructure, water systems and agriculture. 👉 Learn more in our explainer: go.undp.org/3bk #ClimateAction

Easter is a reassuring message of hope. While challenges around us abound, we can lean on our faith to determine our fate. Always we should strive to be stewards and instruments of positive change, to be light in the midst of darkness, to give instead of receive, to create rather than destroy. Grounded in faith, reassured by the gospel of salvation, we can make life on earth more just & equitable, resilient & sustainable. @CCCPHL

Summer in full swing with local farmers looking forward to main harvest of the season in March & April. Here we see initial harvesting done in one part of a farm. Large & stately mango trees stand in the background while still beyond are rather diminutive calamansi trees, showing long-standing traditional diversified farming systems still practiced in Mindanao. Beside traditional huts are rows of vegetable gardens & backyard pens that provide food & additional income opportunities. In this relatively small area you can also see & hear different species of birds at different times of the day. @FAOPhilippines @dabbadie
