“Changes happening south of the border are having ripple effects on cancer research in Canada. Our sustained investment in cancer research is essential. It’s lifesaving,” says Andrea Seale, Chief Executive Officer of @cancersociety. “Without sufficient funding, research momentum will stall, and promising treatments may be delayed by years – time that not every person diagnosed with cancer has.” Every April, we launch our #DaffodilMonth #fundraising campaign. This year we are calling on individuals, communities, businesses and organizations across Canada to help bolster homegrown #cancer #research. Learn more here: cancer.ca/en/about-us/media-…

That’s a wrap for the #Cancer Data Community of Practice Workshop! A few themes emerge as challenges and opportunities: ➡️ Interprovincial barriers to data sharing can be an obstacle. Enthusiasm is high for collaboration across Canada when these barriers are removed. ➡️ Data literacy is needed at all levels to work productively and collaboratively. ➡️ Canada risks being left behind when it comes to health data – but that doesn’t have to be the case. ➡️ Cancer is poised to be an example of what we can achieve in health data. The Pan-Canadian Cancer Data Strategy lays out plans for the future. Learn more: cancer.ca/en/about-us/media-…
