Ohio State fans melt down so badly over every loss is because typically the following is true when the team loses in the Day era: - We shouldn’t have lost or at least could have avoided losing - It was not due to a talent deficit - It happened due to UNADDRESSED problems the fanbase had been screaming about from the mountaintops all season - It’s a multi-season issue that somehow has never been fixed (redzone, kicking) - The game felt like Day was voluntarily tying one arm behind the teams back for no apparent reason, and simply refusing to exploit a massive advantage. - it feels like watching a slow motion car wreck where even though there were plenty of chances to turn things around, somehow the outcome felt totally locked in and unavoidable. Like the steamroller scene in Austin Powers.

My guess is there were some Hall of Fame voters who wanted to punish Belichick over Spygate. Only thing I can think of for why he wouldn’t be a first ballot hall of famer.

Are potential changes coming to the most scrutinized penalty in all of college football? “We are going to be having a discussion on targeting.” Officials are poised to examine the penalty attached to the targeting foul, including disqualifications. yhoo.it/3Max0Xr

People saying Arthur Smith is a terrible hire for Ohio State. They just had Brian Hartline calling plays who had zero experience. Smith's experience alone and the ability to at minimum sequence plays is an instant upgrade over an OC who never called plays.

I still don’t think people fully appreciate how insane it is for Indiana to win a college FOOTBALL National Championship. This is historically a basketball school of course but even then: - Pre-Cignetti: 21 total winning seasons in poll era since 1936 (21 out of 89 seasons)

But Indiana is historically not even on that level. Historically Indiana is far inferior to the Georgia Techs and Colorados and BYUs and Pitts of the world. Those are B/B- level programs. Indiana is historically a C/D level program. This is simply unheard of.

Prior to Cignetti Indiana only played in 12 bowl games in the whole history of the program! And they only won 3 of those 12 bowl games. They won 3 college football playoff games this year, meaning they DOUBLED their number of bowl wins in program history—in one MONTH!
