If Brendon Sorsby is as allowed to play does that mean refs and coaches also get to sports bet or is that only for the players?

Im no lawyer by any means, but saying that an enforcement of legitimate bylaws is unlawful makes no sense to me. If so, then every organization is about to fall apart
The Texas Attorney General sent a formal letter to the Big 12 today alerting the conference that Texas Tech would take action against any league sanction.

Shots fired at Texas Tech? Texas' Steve Sarkisian via @AnwarRichardson: "There's a team in our state in another conference w/a schedule that I would argue if I played w/our 2's & 3's we could go undefeated & they’ll probably make the CFP this year” 💀 on3.com/college/texas-longho…

I think we can all agree the system is broken in college football. But if we want to fix it, we have to be honest. A substantial part of it is rooted in the wealthiest teams doing everything they can to circumnavigating the rules. CFB won’t be fixed until we solve this problem

The rot is from within. The NCAA isn’t the problem. The College Sports commission isn’t the problem. It’s the schools constantly trying to break the rules while simultaneously whining my and complaining about the lack of rules. They wants rules for thee but not for me

Really good points made here. Sometimes I think we forget the NCAA is actually run by the schools…
Conversations about an SEC/Big Ten breakaway from the NCAA are more real than they’ve ever been. But given how badly those two leagues have mismanaged self-governance in the NIL era, it’s not a credible threat. Column for @yahoosports sports.yahoo.com/college-foo…

If I remember correctly the MWC promised UNLV and AF a lot of money in order to keep them, with an exit clause if the MWC to pay them. And I thought most, if not all, of the money was coming through exit fees. So what happens in a settlement where MWC can’t pay full amount??
Equal split is ~75 million. If 100m , big win for MW. If 50m-, big win for P12. Settlement announced six weeks after judge compelled MW to turn over presidents' communications in discovery and one day before discovery hearing

Idk if a 24 team CFP is the answer. But seeing ESPN and SEC suddenly start caring about the “integrity of the game” is extremely ironic and suspicious….

Major bombshell from @Brett_McMurphy earlier today stating, ND - ACC partnership WILL end at some point. When it does, can ND survive as a total independent? Would B1G, SEC, or XII be willing to do a similar partnership? If not, does ND do the unthinkable and join a conference?

Kinda feels like the dreaded “vote of confidence” to me, but I also could be pessimistic in my view
NEW: Notre Dame's ACC relationship has always been tenuous but Irish AD Pete Bevacqua said “it’s never been stronger” ACC ADs & coaches feel differently. An AD told @On3: “There's a widespread perception that we're all getting used & we're sick of it.” on3.com/news/acc-athletic-di…

I know everyone is against expanding the NCAA tournament, including me. But hear me out; what if by expanding, and subsequently increasing the value, it makes it harder for conferences to break away from the NCAA by increasing their buyout for the tournament?

While CBB and the NCAA tournament doesn’t bring in the same kind of money football does, it still brings in non-insignificant money. Is it worth spending millions of dollars, which schools are already tight on, to leave and have no alternative or substitute for the revenue lost?

For context, I believe the SEC will bring in $46.2 M of credits from the 25-26 NCAA tournament for having been in 22 games (assuming the price per credit is about $2.1M)

Really interesting video that highlights a growing problem with the obsession with TV ratings. The more we try and inflate ratings for whatever reason the less valuable they become. Not all viewers/ratings are the same.

My question is as media deal value rises, at what point does the ROI flatten out or decline? And at what point does a different media contract have a better ROI? Or a significant amount of inventory is lost due to other competitors like streaming?

This is how the new Pac-12 logo feels. Kind of a super old niche meme

Pac-12 shouldn’t have rebranded imo. Its basically admitting the conference has changed and negates some of the brand value the old logo had
