Serious question… When the rest of the world is knee deep in cyber warfare attacks perpetuated by Mythos level models, how the hell are we supposed to protect ourselves? There’s no hope. These models know every exploit. It’s in their training data and our pants are down

Here’s what happens next… “AI companies” STOP training models and pivot to becoming raw data center operators Wealthy philanthropists and Chinese entrepreneurs dump cash into open source models, which outstrip Mythos US loses control of AI and we just rent GPUs 🤷‍♂️

This is dire Essentially it’s saying that the US government is forcefully creating a two tier AI system where US citizens get access to the best models, while the rest of the world are locked out
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

I wish I could get the message to people about this. Basilisk is getting close to 100% PEP conformance. It’s right up there with Pyright. Basilisk is one of only two Python type checkers that score this high. AFAIK, it beats Meta’s Pyrefly. This is crazy
This is where the next version's type checking PEP conformance is at Elevated Python

98.6% PEP conformance. This feels illegal 🤯

The httpx2 handover is open source at its best: community fork, Pydantic stepping up to steward it, the original fork author endorsing it instead of competing. When tooling is open, it survives its maintainers. You can’t fork Pylance. Basilisk is MIT for exactly this reason. 🐍

Python 3.15 is feature-frozen: sentinel built-in, frozendict, lazy imports. Every type checker now has homework. Adding 3.15 support to the Basilisk roadmap today — built in the open, tracked on GitHub. 🐍

Have you tried this yet? Makes it easy to deduplicate Python, Rust, C# or Dart. JavaScript and Typescript coming soon. There’s an MCP so your agent can check before copy/paste

And just like that, the free lunch ends Anthropic is giving us two weeks to taste Fable and then it becomes API pricing only This is how it happens. This is how the whole drug dealer model shifts from getting us hooked to forcing us to pay for our habit

When people turn GitHub copilot reviews on at the PR level but refuse to turn static code analysis on at the IDE level, it just eats away at my soul
