I like to think I have a unique way of drawing stylized cartoon characters. It doesn’t always follow the traditional rules, but it’s a mix of techniques that have helped me become faster and more effective over time. That’s exactly what inspired me to create the course “How to Draw Cartoons”. Many students have already joined, and so far, none of them seem to regret it. These four characters you see here are just a few of the ones we draw together throughout the course, step by step, using Procreate. If you’re curious to know more, here’s the link: bit.ly/CartoonCharactersCour…

A friend of mine sent me this drawing I did back in ‘99 (😮) for his high school graduation. The character is Marvin the Martian, from Warner Bros. Good memories ❤️

Lately, I've been judging people based on how they treat pressure-controlled doors. If someone just lets a fire door slam shut, knowing it has a hydraulic closer, then I’m sorry, but that soul is already halfway to purgatory. No redemption. No excuses. Just echoes... and judgment.

The 3/4 angle is definitely the most fun to draw, no matter the style. There’s something incredibly satisfying about being able to create a sense of volume and depth while working in a 2D medium. Fun fact: I don’t know if this happens to you too, but since I’m right-handed, I find it slightly easier to draw characters facing to the right. Even when I do it unconsciously, it feels like just another way the brain tries to save energy (even when you’re doing something you genuinely enjoy 🤷🏻‍♂️)

I made this drawing recently and posted the timelapse on my Instagram account. It was inspired by a situation someone close to me is currently going through. Have a great day ❤️

Whenever I run out of ideas for a sketch, I’ve picked up this habit of observing people around my new building, especially the kids. And today’s highlight is a reasonably mischievous one: half-smirk, defiant stare, annoying his friends at the playground, the whole package. At first, he inspired me to draw the opposite: A kid who’s completely bored. But I quickly changed course and decided to (begrudgingly) pay tribute to him instead. Not that he deserved it 😒
