Over 130 women completed our Domestic Abuse Awareness training sessions across all CHAI groups during January and February 💜 A huge thank you to Great Places Housing Group for supporting this important project and helping us reach so many women in our communities. Each group took part in 3 sessions/workshops, where we delivered bespoke training and raised key awareness around domestic abuse in a way that was culturally appropriate and meaningful. The mums took an active part throughout, and most importantly, they had a voice in safe, supportive spaces where they could talk openly and learn from one another. This awareness will have a ripple effect, as women take this knowledge back into their homes and communities, supporting others and helping to create positive change. We’re so proud of all the women who took part and the strength, openness, and support they showed each other throughout the sessions.

As part of Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Week, during February and March our Deeplish CHAI Project delivered three sessions of our bespoke Hate Crime Awareness, Safety & Empowerment Training Programme with the amazing Deeplish Mums 💛 The group brought such honesty, strength and energy to each session, and it’s been inspiring to see their confidence grow. As part of this, they created a beautiful cohesion display with powerful key messages for the whole school community — a real reflection of unity and empowerment. All participants received certificates, safety & wellbeing goody bags, and we ended with a well-deserved meal out together 🎉 A big thank you to Rochdale Council for supporting this project and helping make it happen. We’re so proud of this brilliant group 💛

We want to share a quick update with our community. Over the past period, we haven’t been as active online due to challenges we’ve faced, including instances of hate and negative interactions. Taking this step back allowed us to reflect, regroup, and focus on what matters most. We are now returning to regular updates and look forward to sharing what we’ve been working on throughout this academic year. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

🌸 International Women’s Day 2026 – #GiveToGain 🌸 Yesterday at our Freehold Chai Project, we had the pleasure of welcoming the truly inspirational couple Kashif Ashraf and Sabeen Ashraf as our guest speakers. They shared their powerful personal journeys and spoke from the heart about making a positive difference in our communities. Their message centred around the strength of women, the importance of supporting and uplifting one another, and inspiring mums to pursue careers, dreams, and opportunities with confidence. Kashif also spoke about the important role men play in supporting, encouraging and uplifting the women in their lives, reminding us that when men stand alongside women as allies, families and communities become stronger. 💜 In the spirit of #GiveToGain, Kashif and Sabeen also very kindly distributed household items from Ultimate Products, gifting them to the women who attended to help with the cost of living during this blessed month. This thoughtful gesture meant so much to everyone present. A huge thank you to Kashif and Sabeen for taking the time to join us, for sharing your inspiration, and for your generosity. Your words and kindness truly touched hearts and motivated so many women in our community. Together we continue to support, inspire and uplift one another. 🌷 #InternationalWomensDay #GiveToGain #Community #WomenSupportingWomen #MenSupportingWomen #FreeholdChaiProject #IWD2026

✨ We are truly honoured and delighted to receive the Mayor’s Appreciation Award! ✨ On Tuesday, CHAI staff and some of our amazing volunteers had the pleasure of visiting the Mayor’s Chamber. The Mayor and Mayoress of Oldham were absolutely incredible — we shared deep, inspiring conversations and learnt so much about the Mayor’s role and Oldham’s rich heritage. We were also given a tour of the new chambers and gallery… and wow, what a transformation! The space is absolutely stunning. We all left feeling inspired, grateful, and proud of the work we do together. 💛 Thank you so much to the Mayor and Mayoress for such a warm and memorable experience!
