GREAT 👍 MOMENT 4 my old hood @NoHoBID Proud of the neighborhood and @GVSHP
#OTD in 2008, the #NoHo Historic District is landmarked. We fought hard for protections for this incredibly rich slice of NYC history, which shows our early 19th c. origins, the impact of the Industrial Revolution, and our emergence as artistic capital: villagepreservation.org/2024…

What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.

A beautiful statement for the ugliest, vilest man on the planet. TY @IdakaborJ
Replying to @atrupar
I marvel at the level of illiteracy and sheer stupidity required to cheer for someone like Trump. Not the billionaire class backing him. They have incentive -power, tax cuts, influence. That part at least follows logic. I’m talking about the other 99% applauding a man who is crude, boorish, proudly ignorant, and incapable of basic dignity in public life. It takes a special kind of intellectual collapse to watch that and call it leadership. Mass political delusion has happened before. And it always begins with crowds applauding the very traits that should disqualify a leader. Tens of millions once cheered Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany too. As vile as he was, Hitler was at least a skilled, electrifying orator who could cloak his brutality in grand rhetoric and national myth. Some people were seduced by the performance. What makes today’s spectacle mind boggling is that Donald Trump isn’t even that. No soaring speeches, no intellectual disguise for the ugliness. Just crude grievance and rambling nonsense, applauded all the same.

A nugget buried in today's US producer price (PPI) data: prices for "materials & components for manufacturing" are increasing at the fastest rates in years. Probably not good for US manufacturing competitiveness (especially since these data don't include direct tariff costs).

BREAKING: Goldman Sachs delivers an urgent warning to the American people about Donald Trump's disastrous tariffs and predicts that the economy is about to get substantially worse. These numbers are truly stunning. Trump's so-called "Golden Age" is about to get a whole lot darker... Bloomberg reports that new analysis by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has concluded that the "impact" from the tariffs on consumer prices is "just getting started." Through June, American consumers absorbed roughly 22% of the tariff costs but that number will soon rise to a jaw-dropping 67% if trends continue along historic patterns. Keep in mind that Trump has repeatedly promised that companies and foreign countries will "eat the tariffs" and that Americans will be unaffected. That lie is about to cost us big. Economists including Goldman's chief economist Jan Hatzius predict that companies will soon begin radically hiking prices to offset the tariffs. Those costs will then be paid directly by consumers. Inflation will rapidly accelerate. "The core personal consumer expenditure index, one of the Federal Reserve’s favorite measures of inflation, will hit 3.2% year-on-year in December, according to the Goldman analysts," wrote Matthew Thomas of Bloomberg. "They said underlying inflation net of tariffs would be 2.4%. The rate was 2.8% in June." Back in February, Trump made it abundantly clear that he is willing to inflict economic suffering on the American people to test out his pet policies. While stopping short of admitting that consumers bear the brunt of tariffs, he predicted "PAIN." "WILL THERE BE SOME PAIN? YES, MAYBE (AND MAYBE NOT!),” he wrote on Truth Social. “IT WILL ALL BE WORTH THE PRICE THAT MUST BE PAID.” Is anyone surprised that a corrupt billionaire insulated from the effects of his own policies is apathetic towards the price of gas, bread, and milk? Please retweet and ❤️ if you oppose Trump's destructive tariffs!

BREAKING: An attorney who represented over 200 of Jeffrey Epstein's victims drops a bombshell on Donald Trump by revealing that he knows where to find the birthday book containing his creepy drawing and letter to Epstein. And it gets so much better... Attorney Bradley Edwards says that the book is currently in the possession of the Epstein estate in Florida and it exists for an "absolute fact." He stated that he nows the estate executors and believes that they would relinquish the book if subpoenaed by Congress. "I do know that they were involved in the assembly of the book, several of them,” Edwards said, speaking about "multiple" victims during an appearance on MSNBC’s "The Last Word." "They were told by Ghislaine to assist in putting the book together," he added. "Others have seen the book post-birthday and after it was assembled. So the existence of the book is an absolute fact.” “They would turn the book over immediately,” said Edwards. "Nobody would have to guess. You would immediately have the answers. You could flip to the page. Is there a letter? Is there not a letter? It’s over. The victims then get to move on. But that’s not what’s happening. Real people are being hurt here. The truth matters, transparency actually matters. Get this over with and get it behind us.” The book in question was recently revealed by The Wall Street Journal and is said to contain a bawdy letter from Trump to Epstein as well as a sketch of a naked woman and Trump's signature. Trump is insisting that the letter is "fake" and claims that he has never been one to draw pictures, despite a long documented history of doodling. He's currently suing the Journal over the reporting. Edwards said that if the book does end up being released, "it should probably be set in the Smithsonian as an artifact at this point in time.” “It’s going to go down in history,” said the attorney. “So that the world can see this book and they’ll know who were Jeffrey Epstein’s best friends at the time? What letters did his family write to him? What other pictures were in there? Redact victim names, release the book and move on.” “Now, who wrote letters, what’s in the book?” he continued. “You’re going to have to get the book to figure it out. But this isn’t something that needs to be a mystery forever and drag the victims into all kinds of anxiety, for nothing. We can get that answer pretty quickly." "You have to remember that Jeffrey Epstein was abusing and exploiting young women and children every day of his life," he went on. "So anybody that’s around for any major events, such as the assembly of his 50th birthday book, they’re going to have to be involved in assembling or playing their part, whatever they were directed to do with respect to that book.” Edwards said that the victims are dealing with "enormous anxiety" about the scandal becoming a big political football. "The one thing that has really alarmed our clients is the information that now Ghislaine Maxwell is being visited in jail and that she is somehow being given some credibility and a platform on this particular topic," he said. "Does she have information that could potentially help? Yes. Will she be truthful about it? Who knows?“ "I have many clients who say, ‘President Trump and Ghislaine Maxwell were good friends back then. Is he going to pardon her?’" added Edwards. "For him to do that, would be, he thought about you and he decided you do not matter. I don’t think that is on the table, maybe I’m putting too much trust in him.” It's time to put this story to bed and give the victims some peace by revealing the full, unvarnished truth. Congress must subpoena this book immediately. Please retweet and ❤️ to call on Congress to take action!

SHOCKING NOT SHOCKING. The number of MAGA who cannot seem to read the literal words of the only crime written into the Constitution, Treason, is nearing 100%. Their made up definitions of the King defining treason went away with the fucking Magna Carta.

BREAKING: Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hits back hard at Donald Trump’s smear campaign and destroys his lies about the Fed’s building renovations. Trump is laying the groundwork to use this construction as an excuse to fire Powell… “The project is large in scope because it involves the renovation of two historic buildings on the National Mall and that were first constructed in the 1930s,” Powell wrote to Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought. “While periodic work has been done to keep these buildings occupiable, neither building has seen a comprehensive renovation since they were first constructed.” “Both buildings were in need of significant structural repairs and other updates to make the buildings safe, healthy, and effective places to work, including the removal of asbestos and lead contamination, complete replacement of antiquated systems such as electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, as well as fire detection and suppression systems,” he continued.  Trump has been attacking Powell for months because he wants him to lower interest rates. Powell has repeatedly and patiently explained that the Fed can’t implement rate cuts yet because of the uncertainty injected into the world economy by the Trump tariffs. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court suggested that Trump can only fire Powell for a specifically articulated reasons. Trump has already showed Republican lawmakers a draft of a termination letter and these building complaints are just him fabricating a reason to justify the firing. “I think he’s terrible… But the one thing I didn’t see him as a guy that needed a palace to live in,” said Trump. “But the one thing I would have never guessed is that he would be spending two and a half billion dollars to build a little extension onto the Fed.” Vought, a MAGA hatchet man, has complained about the $2.5 billion costs, claiming that there are discrepancies, and stated that the project requires “additional oversight” from his office and the National Capital Planning Commission. Powell pushed back on this absurd claim. “Although the Board is not generally subject to the direction of NCPC with respect to its building projects, we voluntarily collaborated with the NCPC and benefitted from robust and collaborative engagement with the commission in earlier stages of the project,” Powell wrote in his letter to Vought. “The project is proceeding in accordance with the plan that the NCPC approved in September 2021. Since the plan’s approval by the NCPC, the Board has made a small number of design changes to scale back or eliminate certain elements and has added no new elements,” he continued. “These changes were intended to simplify construction and reduce the likelihood of further delays and cost increases,” he added. As usual, Powell is the picture of professionalism and steady monetary leadership. He refuses to let Trump’s partisan mudslinging affect him and has already signaled that he will not step down if Trump attempts to illegally fire him. Please retweet and ❤️ if you stand with Jerome Powell!
