Increased CAPACITY is only way to pull unscheduled care back from the cliff edge >300 admissions in regions EDs this morning waiting for inpatient beds. A new record? >500 waited more than 12 hours in last 24hrs. #NMS #UECreview must action capacity. @NHSGIRFT @VP_NI_RCEM

Even if milder disease impact without measures to control & slow spread will have significant impact on hospitals that are already over capacity !! Booster/ masks and social distancing please 🙏
Worth remembering that when a variant is doubling every 3 days, even if the hospitalisation rate is half another variant's, that would literally just buy you another 3 days, by which time it'd have the same impact because of doubling of cases.

After listening to @BBCNolan show today many of us have been left horrified by many of the comments, with some calling it sensationalised. A very low blow for those working tirelessly to provide the best care they can. No patient, person, loved one just gets “put in bag”.
