Today we offer some tips on crossing in front of a school bus safely: 🔸 Do not start to cross the road until the stop arm is out and red flashing lights are activated 🔸 Make eye contact and wait for the driver to signal it is safe to cross 🔸 Always cross in front of the bus

A reminder for all drivers: when a school bus is stopped with the red lights flashing and stop arm out, you must stop - whether approaching from the front or rear. Failure to stop can result in a hefty fine and demerit points on your license.

Play is important when it comes to child development. There are so many fun activities that everyone can participate in! Play like this contributes to a child's overall wellbeing, so don't be afraid to use your imagination and have fun with the youngest ones in your family.

When a school bus comes to a rail crossing, under the Highway Traffic Act, they are required to stop. The driver looks in both directions along the railway track; opens the door of the school bus and listens to determine if any train is approaching, and proceeds when it is safe.

Following up on Wednesday's #PinkShirtDay, it's a good time to remind everyone about the BULLY FREE ZONE. Just like in the classroom, the school bus is a 🚫 BULLY FREE ZONE 🚫  Keep the bus safe by maintaining and encouraging a Bully Free Zone during the ride.

Please take care while at the bus stop during the winter months. Be respectful of neighbours' property, dress appropriately for the weather and do not play on any snowbanks nearby - as tempting as they may be!
