Last week, the Cleveland Guardians partnered with UMPS CARE Charities and Paul Davis Restoration to host a week of training that led to a special graduation ceremony at East Professional Center in Cleveland.
Through the Official Leadership Program, Cleveland teens participated in a week-long training (3-hours per day) focused on building umpiring skills, confidence, and leadership experience. Led by MLB umpires and educators, the program helps address the nationwide shortage of youth sports officials while opening doors to real opportunities.
A special thank you to former MLB umpire John Hirschbeck for his time, mentorship, and support throughout the program. Congratulations to this incredible group of graduates. The future of the game is in good hands!
