My fiancé who “works” from home.
Having an unemployed friend to text during work is so important. They’re like the window in your prison cell.

When I’m off work on random weekdays and running errands, I always feel like an undercover agent cause no one knows I’m secretly a doctor.

Imagine having three degrees and making this much. Truly humbling.

Have I lost touch with reality because $55k for a job that requires a masters degree is basically nothing

My favorite thing to do honestly.
Internal medicine is basically professional overthinking.

Doing my ICU rotation and realizing not many people were trained to intubate without a scope. Is this common training for osteopathic schools?

Any tips for an intern on their first ICU rotation (yes it’s very late in the year but these are the cards I was dealt), who doesn’t like procedures 🫡

My partner and I have spent $400 on groceries in 2 weeks. How the heck are people with kids surviving??

Most inaccurate thing about #thepitt is the lack of medicine residents. Why hasn’t anyone been admitted to medicine?? I demand representation.

I see a therapist twice a month.
How do even introverts do medicine. Talking to that many people is so exhausting and that too everyday??Crazy.

What type of shock though? Distributive, cardiogenic, hypovolemic or obstructive?

The Black tax is not exclusive to Black athletes and entertainers. Almost any Black person that has jumped higher in class relative to their parents, siblings, or additional immediate family, pays a Black tax. That includes, first gen college grads, doctors, lawyers, etc.
This entire conversation surrounding Glorilla & her family is exactly the “black tax” we be talking about when it comes to athletes & entertainers. If you have to rely on your kids’ money to sustain yourself, you have failed as a parent.

I feel like residency definitely sucks if you don’t have a very supportive, financially stable partner. Cause all I have to focus on is work and learning.

The risk of doing residency in the Midwest. Driving through a foot of snow to get to the hospital for work cause I’m now considered “essential”.

My dad is sharecroppers son. He literally had to skip school to pick cotton. We are not that far removed. Literally one generation for some Black folks.
Whew. A share croppers son. Like I said we ain’t that far removed from ‘history’

Three more night shifts, and then I’m done with nights for my intern year. People say you grow the most on nights, and it’s true!
