HSL observed the 77th Republic Day on 26 Jan 2026 with patriotic fervour. Cmde Girideep Singh, C&MD, HSL, unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade comprising Security personnel, NCC cadets, Scouts & Guides and students. Addressing the gathering, the C&MD highlighted the significance of Republic Day as a reminder of constitutional values such as Discipline, Accountability, Fairness, and Service to the Nation, which form the foundation of public sector organisations like HSL.
The C&MD outlined HSL’s transformation journey, marked by strengthened governance, restored execution discipline, improved financial rigour, infrastructure modernisation, and system-driven decision-making.
Highlighting Atmanirbhar Bharat, he emphasised that HSL is playing a key role in India’s indigenous shipbuilding drive, contributing to the Navy’s expanding fleet and maritime self-reliance. In this context, he announced that HSL has emerged as the L1 bidder for the construction of 18 Next Generation Fast Patrol Vessels for the ICG, stating that this is not just a contract, but a statement of national confidence in HSL.
Recalling the conferment of Mini Ratna status, the C&MD acknowledged the collective commitment, adaptability, and perseverance of employees during challenging transitions, which have been the true engines of HSL’s recovery and resurgence.
As part of the celebrations, commendation letters were presented to employees for exemplary service, prizes were awarded to competition winners, and a tree plantation drive was undertaken, reaffirming HSL’s commitment to sustainability, institutional strength, and nation-building.
