Our short film "Red Goshawks - Lifting the Veil" is now live! Filmmaker Braydon Moloney followed us around during the 2021 breeding season and captured our efforts to better understand and conserve this unique raptor species #Documentary #RedGoshawk youtu.be/VYUJspD6v_Q?si=VN_d…

So can BFDV be implicated in the Red Goshawks widespread decline and range loss? We’re not sure. Parrot populations have increased in its former range areas including known virus carriers which they prey upon. However, without any historical evidence this remains circumstantial.

Driving the length of Queensland stopping just shy of New Guinea. Essentials in the front. Checking Red Goshawk nests in the north. Fingers crossed my old ute makes it!

Hey colleagues, got any good raptor nest monitoring field sheets you want to share? I'm working on a template to give collaborators monitoring nests for productivity at each breeding phase other environmental observations. TIA! #raptorresearch

The Tasmanian #wedgetailedeagle – Australia's largest eagle – is #Endangered. Many human activities appear to threaten our iconic raptor. How to tell if the various major efforts to minimise impacts are adequate to enable its recovery? #Tasmania #CitSciMonth 📷Keith Martin-Smith
