NEPA took my light in the middle of a live sales call. With my manager listening. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Naija Sales Diaries β€” Week 5 A thread. 🧡

β€œHow do I even start with remote sales in Nigeria?” I’ve gotten this question more times than I can count since Week 4. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Naija Sales Diaries β€” Week 6 The actual roadmap. A thread. 🧡

Step 7 β€” Expect rejection. A lot of it. Applications will go unanswered. You might apply to 50 before one replies. This is normal everywhere β€” not just for Nigerians. The ones who break through are the ones who kept applying after application 30.

I’m just here to vent and share sha β€” but if this thread helps even one person land their first remote sales role, that’s my contribution made. The space is open. The information is now out here. What you do with it is up to you. Naija Sales Diaries β€” every Monday. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ See you next week.

Anyway. I survived that call. Sent a follow up email. Apologized professionally. Blamed β€œa brief power interruption.” My manager never mentioned it again. The prospect closed two weeks later. NEPA tried it. I tried harder. πŸ˜€πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

If you’re doing remote sales from Nigeria β€” I see you. Hotspot in one hand. Objection handler in the other. Generator running in the background like a percussion instrument nobody asked for. You are not doing a remote job. You are doing a remote job on hard mode. And you’re still closing. Naija Sales Diaries β€” every Monday. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ See you next week

I got a remote sales job. My family thought I was doing runs. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Naija Sales Diaries β€” Week 4 A thread. 🧡

We have every qualification that matters. We can handle rejection β€” we grew up with it. We can hustle β€” it’s in our DNA. We can read a room β€” we’ve been navigating complex social dynamics since primary school. The only thing missing is the information and the confidence to apply.

I close my laptop at midnight most nights. Tired. But building something. This space needs more Nigerian voices in it. Not because we need the validation β€” but because the opportunity is sitting there unclaimed and we’re leaving money on the table. Come and collect your own. Naija Sales Diaries β€” every Monday. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ See you next week.
