AI agents will need to discover services, verify identity, negotiate value, send and receive payments, access data, trigger workflows, and execute outcomes across systems.
The legacy internet needs an upgrade. Agentic AI Web infrastructure must be built for machines, agents, APIs, smart contracts and autonomous execution.
The AI Web economy will run on infrastructure that is identity-aware, payment-native, programmable, interoperable and secure by design.

The recent DENIC DNSSEC signing failure that took 17.7 million .de domains offline proves that centralized DNS exposes a catastrophic security surface and single points of failure. Cloudflare and others had to disable DNS security for an entire country (.de) to "fix it". Centralized DNS will never work for Agentic AI.

This should be our wakeup call to get rid of API keys, just like we "got rid" of passwords with OAuth & passkeys
There's a fix. Of course there's a fix! It's called OIDC Federation, it works beautifully, but it still hasn't replaced API keys in the mainstream.
In short, your infra (Vercel, AWS, etc.) generates short-lived JWTs. You then tell your services (database, AI provider, etc.) to trust those JWTs instead of the API keys. No static secrets required.
These JWTs have a lifetime of <1h, and rotate automatically. Simpler safer
