Wes Streeting calls you and asks for *tangible* ideas he can implement to help NHS improve performance. But there's no extra money for big spending. What's your one idea? #FantasyNHS
I'll start - staff passports across regions to free up pointless mandatory training time.
Looking forward to returning to Milat Islamia Masjid next week for our third health check event. In this video, local Imam Ali explains why working with communities is essential in long term CVD prevention and reducing health inequalities @Improve_Academyyoutube.com/watch?v=P1tnBIk3β¦
In 2022 @CONeillEM began looking at ways we could support our community after anecdotal evidence from clinical staff and the community indicated poor cardiovascular outcomes from ethnic minority communities. We are thrilled it has been nominated for @HSJptsafety@HealthInnovYH
Ciaran is working closely with communities & partners across BDC to make health checks accessible.
In this video he tells us how he's working with local imam Ali to bring health checks to faith settings like the mosque.

Research suggested cardiovascular disease (CVD) disproportionately affects those from the poorest communities; those from the most socio-economically deprived communities are more than four times more likely to die prematurely from #CVD. tinyurl.com/y8ajxew7#diabetes
Another hugely successful health check event. Thank you to everyone involved for their help and support in setting up and running the event #healthchecks
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Community Health Checks project! It has been shortlisted for an @hsj award in the category Innovation and Improvement in Reducing Healthcare Inequalities!
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making it a success @coneillem@lawtontri@bradford4better@uniofbradford @abidarafiq4 @shahid_islam@v1sharma
We wrote an article for the BD5 magazine about the importance of health checks and included a little story about my pal @ShadimHussain along with some basic facts & stats about high BP. This magazine is posted to approx 7000 homes in the Little Horton Ward.
It is truly important that we look after our health and not ignore the signs our bodies give us. It is a pleasure to be featured in the BD5 magazine. Thanks to @shahid_islam for raising awareness on the impact of high blood pressure. ππ½
Not forgetting the amazing @G_tonCentre who have worked very hard in making sure the event was well attended &providing scrumptious healthy refreshments Great team effort all around. Thank you @CONeillEM &Rubina Burhan centre manager at Girlington Centre. Much needed initiative.
I am delighted to have supported the health check event @G_tonCentre in partnership with the local GP practices. It was great to see over 100s of people in attendance.
Sadly, with the number of attendees the demand could not be met.
The struggle is real!

A huge thank you to Clinical Fellows from the YH Future Leaders Programme for supporting our Brighter Futures Week. Our pupils were inspired about careers in health from real-life medics, nurses, podiatrists and physiotherapists! #thankyou#careers#collaborate#community
Really excited to be at @ECS_Keighley this morning - talking about careers in the healthcare service with some of my wonderful fellows from the YH Future Leaders Programme (so sad our year together is nearly over) and @AiredaleCharity β‘οΈβοΈ
