⚡️A national scheme for 5–15‑year‑olds for about 6–8 weeks would likely cost: £120m–£200m depending on uptake. 🌞 Why summer? Choosing summer is strategic: Families face higher childcare and transport costs during holidays. Young people have more unstructured time, and mobility reduces isolation. Councils run Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programmes — free travel increases access. It avoids the complexity of term‑time school transport rules. 🧒 Social impact A scheme like this would have measurable effects: Reduced financial pressure on low‑income families Higher participation in summer clubs, libraries, museums, sports Better independence for teens (especially 13–15) Lower car use, easing congestion in cities Improved access to part‑time summer jobs

Very few people believe that Starmer knowingly lied about Mandelson. Yesterday Robinson admitted. neither the PM or Foreign Secretary were informed of the result of the vetting process. They were not told about the ‘red flags’ or decisions that the problems could be mitigated.

If by ‘illegals’ you mean displaced persons who have legitimately applied for asylum; may I point out that the treaty under which they have the right to apply for asylum was signed by Churchill and the rules under which they are accommodated haven’t changed since June 2024.

If by ‘we’, if you mean the British people, are not in control of the oil and gas reserves in the North Sea. Most field are licensed to international firms. Even those that are listed as UK owned, trade their shares on foreign stock markets plus London. share.google/aimode/9RdTyxEu…

Sleep Cove tweets; Factually wrong. Eeeekk. You’re very ignorant. The school is a charitable project so all the money is spent on charity endeavour. Gosh, I love educating you. Then blocked me from providing evidence that he is wrong.

Queen Elizabeth issued only once an Easter Message (during COVID). Anyone throwing a tantrum over this is certified stoopid.

It is true that some mines were uneconomic. Such mines were closed under both Labour and Conservative PMs Thatcher closed profitable mines some of which had recently received major upgrades. Thatcher was motivated by ideology not economics. share.google/aimode/Fox544RV…

Thatcher succeeded in changing the UK from a collectivist to an individualist country.. Breaking the power of the Unions was one of several policies, in pursuit of this goal which are still having a negative impact on us today. share.google/aimode/fi9lgYLR…

How can Americans allow someone, who has his said that he will bomb a country ‘for fun’, continue to have his finger on the nuclear button.

Churchill bank notes are still in circulation and will remain so for some time. Bank notes are regularly redesigned to replace existing notes. Churchill would not have been treated as a special case. The new notes will feature wildlife following consultation.

The UK’s responce in January was proportionate and appropriate to the perceived threat and the current commitments of our armed forces. UK sent fighter jets and helicopters. with ant-drone capability to Cyprus and Qatar and increased the number of service personnel in Cyprus.

Have you forgotten about highly divisive PMs like Thatcher, who evoked strong negative as well as positive reactions and still do?

Reeves was as an economist on the Japan desk at the BoE. She was so well thought of that the BoE funded and gave her leave to study for Master of Economics at LSE. Reeves moved to HBoS of her own volition and left when she was elected MP. The expeneses scandal came to nothing.

Constantly hearing ‘Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew’, defeats the purpose of removing his title.

You thanked Brexit for decreasing the number of people who ‘tell us what to do’. I explained why this statement is not correct.

It’s rather concerning to find that some opposition to cancelling the Eton Star Academy Sixth Form is based on the belief that it would have been fully funded by Eton. Central government will pay for the building, local government the running costs. Eton an annual grant of £1mil
