As part of the Norwegian Research Council TONe project, a team from CRESIS visited the Windracers facilities in Foreham, England earlier this month to install a dual-band radar system designed for remote sensing of ice and snow onto the @Windracers Ultra UAV.

The CRESIS team, formed by Dr. Emily Arnold and Dr. Fernando Rodriguez, fit-tested and installed the electronics inside the payload bay, and mounted and installed the radar antennas. Personnel from Windracers and NORCE provided support to the CRESIS team during installation.

"I participated in fieldwork during the 2022/2023 Austral summers, where I went to the South Pole and flew 20 total missions on the Basler. I also designed and built a sled antenna system for the GHOST (ITGC, @GlacierThwaites) project, which deployed to WAIS Divide."
