🔌Funny how the “electric rate crisis” suddenly became urgent to Gov. Lamont only two months before a primary in an election year
The governor has been in office for 8 years. CT has had some of the highest electric rates in America under his administration. CT Senate Republicans proposed real plans to lower electric rates and eliminate the Public Benefits Charge. Democrats voted NO! Now he says he’s “stepping up”? Connecticut families have been paying the price while he and CT Democrats did nothing for YEARS!

According to a recent report, CT ranks as one of the worst places in the nation to do business for the 2nd year in a row. This is a result of decades of failed leadership from CT Democrats who keep choosing higher costs over common sense. Job creators have been clear about why our state is not business-friendly. Energy costs are among the highest in the country, our tax structure punishes the people who hire and invest here, and the regulatory climate makes it harder every year to grow a business in this state. When companies decide CT isn’t worth the cost, the jobs and opportunities go elsewhere. Our families are the ones left paying the price. This crisis was created by one-party rule, and it can be fixed. We need a government that works with our businesses instead of against them. Connecticut can compete again!

The legislative session ended over a month ago, but our senators have never stopped fighting for you. We stood up against harmful policies that would cost you more of your hard earned money and take away your freedoms. We fought for a more affordable Connecticut. To lower your taxes, bring down electric rates and fully eliminate Public Benefits Charges. Through hours of testimony, our senators stood with you and defended your parental, medical and educational rights. When Democrats tried to silence you, we made sure your voice was heard at press conferences, during hearings and on the Senate floor. The work for the people of our state does not stop when the session ends. Our senators are back in their communities, still listening and continuing to fight for the Connecticut you deserve!

This is Governor Lamont’s affordability plan: a stack of election-year patches over a problem that gets worse every month. A temporary “$30 off your electric bill.”This does not address what’s actually driving Connecticut’s cost-of-living crisis. He’s not fixing your costs. He’s running out the clock until Election Day.

“The eyes of the world are upon you.” 82 years ago today, General Eisenhower spoke those words to Allied forces preparing to storm the beaches of Normandy. Their courage changed the course of history. Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of every soldier who fought for freedom that day. We will never forget.

đŸ©șConnecticut is already one of the most expensive states in the country to live and do business. Now, residents and small businesses could be hit with double-digit health insurance rate hikes. It gets worse. CBIA Health Connections, a group health insurance program launched less than two years ago to give small businesses more affordable coverage options, just announced it’s shutting down. Rising costs and a shrinking market forced it out. For families and employers already stretched thin, this means skipped doctor visits, impossible budget decisions, and businesses wondering how much longer they can offer coverage to their employees. State Senator Tony Hwang is calling on the CT Insurance Department to scrutinize these requests and protect consumers. Public hearings are coming this August, and your voice matters. Read more about how to make your voice heard by clicking the link in the comments.

🔌Warm weather is here, and electric bills are about to hit CT residents’ wallets hard. We’re already one of the most expensive states in the nation for electricity. CT Senate Republicans fought to remove Public Benefits Charges and provide real relief from rising electric rates. Democrats voted “NO.” The people of Connecticut deserve better.

A driver's moment of impatience is never worth risking a child's life. That's why Sen. Gordon introduced legislation that creates stronger consequences for motorists who repeatedly fail to stop for school buses. Today, he proudly celebrated its unanimous passage alongside Coventry Public Schools Superintendent David Petrone, DATTCO, Inc President Donald DeVivo, Coventry, CT Police Department Chief Eric Peterson, and Coventry Board of Education Chair Jennifer Beausoleil. Thank you to the educators, transportation professionals, law enforcement officers, and advocates who helped make this important public safety measure a reality. Together, we're making Connecticut's roads safer for our students. đŸšâš ïž

When Democrats hold a supermajority, they often push through whatever is on their agenda without a real conversation. CT Senate Republicans spent hours on the floor this session because our constituents deserve to be heard. We fought for lower electric rates, affordability, parental and educational rights and the freedoms that Connecticut residents depend on. Free speech is our First Amendment right, and we will continue to exercise it. 🔗courant.com/2026/06/01/ct-go

📱 Make your voice heard! Aquarion is seeking changes to its rate schedule that could mean higher water bills for customers across the state. PURA is holding public comment hearings and accepting written comments. Submit your comments referencing Docket No. 25-12-12 to PURA.ExecutiveSecretary@ct.gov.

Connecticut already pays some of the highest electric rates in the country, and it’s about to get worse. A recent CT Insider article reports that your electric bill could climb more than 13% in 2027, and the real cost may be even higher. This is what happens when CT Democrats refuse to take real action on lowering our state’s cost-of-living. CT Senate Republicans offered legislation to eliminate Public Benefits Charges during the legislative session, and every Democrat voted against it. We will continue to push to lower electric rates and to remove Public Benefits Charges from your electric bill! ctinsider.com/news/article/e

Gov. Lamont just signed into law a controversial bill that strips away parental and educational rights for homeschool, private school, and parochial school families. Thousands of you submitted testimony, showed up at public hearings, and made the trip to Hartford to fight for your rights. You were heard by Republicans. You were silenced and ignored by Democrats. CT Democrats pushed through their agenda of government overreach anyway. CT Republicans will keep standing with you and fighting every day for your right to choose the best education for your children.

🔌With an 11% electric rate hike proposal before state regulators, Gov. Lamont offered a solution to high energy costs
“Turn off the lights.” Decades of failed Democrat leadership and bad policies got us here. “Turning off the lights” won’t get us out. CT Senate Republicans have a plan to lower electricity costs and eliminate Public Benefits Charges. We will never stop fighting for the people of our state.

The rainy weather this Memorial Day Weekend didn’t stop our Republican senators from joining their communities in paying tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Today, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the freedoms we hold dear. Their memory of our fallen heroes will never be forgotten. đŸ‡ș🇾
