Mercyhurst named a head coach in waiting, asked people to donate to men’s hockey for Giving Day, then cut the program two days later. A program that helped build the school’s identity deserved better. So did the players, coaches, alumni, and supporters.
Mercyhurst University today announced strategic academic program adjustments and the discontinuation of its Division I Men’s Ice Hockey program as part of broader institutional planning.
