Last week I had the unique opportunity to tour Astra’s factories. The tours were amazing but the part I loved the most was meeting and talking with the team at Astra. Wishing the team the best I look forward to seeing test flight alpha more spacecraft engines going to orbit.

This is how all in on AI at Astra should be done not what’s currently planned.
Replying to @CadeArmy
I even like the idea of potentially adding some automation into the ASE production line but then put people on making upgrades or new thrusters. The same can be said with Rocket 4 where they can start development on a block upgrades or a new rocket.

I truly believe if Chris keeps with this all in on AI at Astra I don’t think they will make it to the end of 2027. I like the idea of implementing AI into parts of the company to improve efficiency but you won’t come out on top without a group of amazing people working there.

I still believe Astra has the chance at very bright future doing things that we can’t even think of right now. I just don’t want that to not happen.

Two major things have happened today, where the future of launches will be happening everywhere. With that, we could potentially be seeing a @TheSpaceportCo and @Astra collaboration sometime in the not too distant future :).

I think that’s the wrong Adam unless spice has been secretly working at Astra for a decade lol

The team at Astra are just getting started. Hopefully more updates on the test flight will come out soon.

Astra’s next-generation rocket just crossed the Atlantic. Rocket 4.0 arrived in the UK the same way it’s designed to launch: in standard shipping containers. Mobile. Containerized. Orbital. The future of launch is everywhere.

Nearly a decade ago, Adam and I started Astra with a simple idea: launch shouldn’t be limited to a handful of places on Earth. Today, our next-generation rocket is sitting in the English countryside after crossing the Atlantic in standard shipping containers. The future of launch is everywhere.

Congratulations to the team! This is a huge milestone for TSC. We are now a lot closer to a future with offshore launch pads operating off of the east and west coasts.
We have maritime assets available NOW for orbital launch. Not unproven concepts. No science projects. Expeditionary mobile pads for Venture-class vehicles. 1 tons to orbit. 400 ton deck capacity. Ready for immediate mobilization. Real infrastructure. Real launches.

Seems like Astra is going to have something pretty cool at @LDNTechWeek next week. Can’t wait to see the photos of what they brought with them.

Yesterday, we welcomed members of the German Bundestag’s Budget Committee to Planet. The group got a view of our existing manufacturing facilities - a sneak peek of what’s to come for our expanding manufacturing plans in Berlin later this year. Our Berlin facility will double our capacity to build high resolution Pelican satellites and add up to 70 high-skilled jobs to our existing team of about 150 in Berlin. šŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ

Did not expect this from blue but the urgency to get New Glenn flying again by the end of the year is refreshing to see. Best of luck to the team can’t wait to see New Glenn take to the skies once again.
Some LC-36 updates. Now that we’ve had access to the pad and integration facility we can share a bit of good news. The propellant farm, oxygen, liquid hydrogen and LNG tanks are all in good shape. This is good luck because these are very long lead items. The water tower is also good. The big support tower is damaged, but it can be repaired in place rather than torn down and replaced. The booster ā€œNever Tell Me The Oddsā€ and the three GS-2s that were onsite in the integration facility also look good. I’ve seen some speculation that we might move directly to the 9x4 configuration, but we won’t do that. Rate manufacturing of 7x2 is going well, and we’re going to continue that at pace as planned and store the stages for use. In addition, we had already been working for some time on eliminating our transporter-erector in favor of an alternative vertical conop, and we’ll now go directly to that; so we don’t need a new transporter-erector. We will fly again before the end of this year. Gradatim Ferociter.

I’ve been playing Forza Horizon since horizon 3 and I am just awestruck by horizon 6. This game has to win game of the year.
