I’ve been mulling over what my *personal* response to Twitter sale should be 🧵: I appreciate the “stay and fight” idea because this network is vital for a lot of important communities: advocates for under-represented voices, researchers, global south development work...

My conclusion: I'll stay on as an inactive node because the network matters, but I will not be actively using it. My great hope is that SOMEWHERE an NGO of altruistic investors is forming to buy Elon out and make Twitter a publicly owned, transparently governed utility.

In this month's bulletin from angry local farmer: he used to be mad about the "green agenda", but now he's mad it's being rolled back. And apparently the indigenous population don't make good labour? It's a confusing time for us all.
