We tend to go into user journey mapping focused on finding pain points, to improve the design. This is good, reflects a desire to improve #usability. We should also identify bliss points, to know what’s brilliant, reassuring, very usable (if anything), so we don’t design it out.

Going through @CakeBitesize content training - some great practical tips e.g. on use of bold and tone - that I haven't seen so explicitly written down before (it's somewhat implicit in other style guides)

Read user feedback on our courses. Our ridiculous ‘buy both’ offer is valid until 20 June. £47.50 for 22 modules of #UserCentredDesign and #ContentDesign e-learning. Then we’re merging them, and adding topics! The price’ll go up. Take advantage now? cakeconsultancy.com/feedback 🍰

£13.30 for 4 books is still a bargain at twice the price these days. 📚📚📕 Btw is there a way for people to return them to Wob, to keep things circular? I give mine to charity/station book swops anyway. Plus have also joined my new local library.

Chipping away at the content – rationalising, reducing, clarifying: this can be how #ContentDesign gets initial recognition within an organisation. Getting some really clear, user-centred content up and live can be of big value. Let's consider it #MicroContentTransformation.

this seems very bad for anyone that owns one of these bikes—you have to unlock it with the app! and unless something has changed, it's owned/maintained by an external vendor... who won't keep it up if they aren't paid

What makes an accessible, easy to read font? “Do have: • Tall x-height: the height of lower case letters like m, a, x, and r. • Height difference between ascenders and capital letters, so for example, capital "i" and lower case "l" look different…” gathercontent.com/blog/what-…

Designing a high-converting form is not achieved by using float labels. It’s achieved by: 1) Asking minimal questions 2) Making those questions clear 3) Using simple interactions that users understand Prioritise the hard work over visual fluff.

Do I know anyone who could offer #GraphicDesign work experience this July for a Year 11 student? She took Design GCSE early and will have just taken the Graphics GCSE exam. Absolutely loves it, work is of a high standard, is thoughtful in her process and has great initiative.

Looking for advice: we have delivery managers from different backgrounds, how can we help ourselves to get a good grounding in digital/technology basics. The outcome we are looking for is that DM’s can ask good questions, plan well and know enough to follow technical chats.

I said most people's cats jump on the kitchen counters when no one is watching because cats are ungovernable and don't care if they're not allowed up there. I got angry replies for months from people insisting their cats would never.
