Former Florida and UCF Standout Matt Prevesk Named Umatilla Baseball Coach 💙⚾🧡
Umatilla High School announced the hiring of Matt Prevesk as the next Head Baseball Coach for the Bulldogs baseball program. Prevesk will replace Tanner Clark, who recently stepped down after five highly successful seasons leading the program and establishing a culture of excellence that elevated Umatilla Baseball to new heights.
Coach Clark leaves behind a tremendous legacy of success both on and off the field. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs experienced sustained competitiveness, increased expectations, and tremendous growth throughout the program. Umatilla High School extends its sincere appreciation for his dedication and impact over the last five years.
Coach Prevesk brings an impressive playing background and a wealth of collegiate experience that will provide tremendous value to Bulldog student-athletes. A four-year varsity baseball player at Apopka High School, Prevesk continued his playing career at some of the highest levels of collegiate baseball.
He spent two seasons at the University of Florida, where he earned SEC Academic Honor Roll recognition and was part of teams that competed in the College World Series, including a national runner-up finish.
Prevesk then transferred to the University of Central Florida, where he played two additional seasons and earned Big 12 Honorable Mention honors. During the 2024 season, he led the team with 80 hits while posting an impressive .342 batting average.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Prevesk competed in several prestigious summer baseball leagues, including the Valley League in Charlottesville, Virginia, with the Winter Garden Squeeze in the Florida League, and with Martha’s Vineyard in the highly respected New England Collegiate Baseball League.
