Kyllä, pyöräilyn brändi on pielessä. Kolumni ei kuitenkaan huomaa, miksi. Identiteettipolitiikka luo meuhkaamista. Mutta arjessa pyöräilyn tila on otettu usein juuri kävelijöiltä ja joukkoliikenteen käyttäjiltä. Se harmittaa. Ja lisää vaaratilanteita. hs.fi/paakirjoitukset/art-20…

We're excited to join forces with @SpaceX to advance the frontier of useful AI. Expect significant improvements to Cursor soon.
SpaceX has exercised the option to acquire @cursor_ai in an all-stock transaction with the goal of building the world’s most useful AI models. For the past few months, SpaceXAI has been jointly training a model with Cursor, which will be released in Cursor and Grok Build soon. We look forward to working closely with the Cursor team to advance our frontier AI capabilities

I’m confused by the logic here. If the jailbreak is serious enough to justify export controls, why is Fable still safe enough for U.S. nationals to access? Either the model is unsafe because the guardrails can fail, or it is safe enough to remain deployed. The current position seems to argue both.

I don’t see any connection between three months ago and why the US would slap an export ban on Anthropic’s latest AI model. #Fable
Three months ago, @DeptofWar kicked @AnthropicAI out of our building—forever. Every passing day proves why that was the right move. 🇺🇸

Is this really about technology, or is it about Anthropic’s dispute with the US military? That dispute centres on CEO Dario Amodei’s refusal to remove Claude’s safety guardrails, which block its use for fully autonomous lethal weapons and mass surveillance of Americans.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Wrong jurisdiction. I'm sure Ukraine would find much more suitable corrective retraining for this lost citizen.

As a Claude Code fanboy, I tried Grok Build yesterday in WSL on a smaller project. Was positively surprised. Did its job, was lightning fast, and totally aware of its surroundings and pipelines without spoon feeding it anything. #GrokBuild

All in on the soft power part. I think we need more, not less, events where we can get a break from political strong-arming.

Not so fast Elon!
Got off an emergency conference call with EU government leaders this morning (of course, we had a special permit to have our call at 8:30, a full 30 minutes before the official start of the work day) We all agreed that the SpaceX IPO cannot move forward until Elon Musk commits to transitioning all his rockets to carbon neutral, solar-powered engines The pollution caused by his disgusting gas-powered spaceships is unacceptable to Europe Your move, Elon

Today I'm publishing a new essay, Policy on the AI Exponential. AI is progressing extremely fast—much faster than the policy process was built to handle. The essay lays out where I think the technology is now, and the action needed to close the gap: darioamodei.com/post/policy-…

"No American multinational can blackmail 450 million consumers", yet a handful of EU bureaucrats can decide what 450 million citizens are allowed to access. #Apple #Siri
Apple has decided not to bring its new Siri AI to iPhones and iPads in the EU, blaming the Digital Markets Act. The Commission’s reply was blunt: this is Apple’s choice, not Europe’s fault. No American multinational can blackmail 450 million consumers by saying: change your rules, or we keep innovation away. A carmaker would not refuse to export cars because Europe requires a speedometer. The same principle applies here. The DMA defends fair competition, consumer choice and digital sovereignty. In Europe, Big Tech does not write the law.

"Why? Because big tech companies cannot decide which EU tool should be used by EU citizens." Neither can EU citizens. EU leaders will tell its people what to use.
Apple decided not to roll out SIRI AI in the EU. The non-interoperability of their design made the update not suitable for the EU market. Why? Because big tech companies cannot decide which EU tool should be used by EU citizens. Learn more👇 📺youtube.com/shorts/ATg_W0N3K…

Fable 5 is state-of-the-art on nearly all tested benchmarks, with exceptional performance in software engineering, knowledge work, scientific research, and vision. The longer and more complex the task, the larger Fable 5’s lead over our other models.

Apple just confirmed: the shiny new Siri - powered by Apple Intelligence - won't ship to the EU. Because nothing says "protecting citizens" like shielding them from... better voice assistants. Our visionary EU leaders are on the case, bravely defending us against rogue, unregulated AI. Thank you @HennaVirkkunen for ensuring our safety from helpful features. What a time to be "protected." #DSA #AppleIntelligence #InnovationWhere
