I built an app in Softr for the HVAC industry to solve some crucial problems. The problem is that those in the HVAC industry and similar industries like construction, plumbing, and electrical do not have one source of truth where: 1. Their clients can request for thier services. 2. Clients can be onboarded after they make a payment. 3. They store the information and bio data of their technicians. 4. They assign tasks to their technicians. 5. Technicians can track onsite jobs with pictures in real time of when working. 6. Clients see the progress of their projects. 7. Invoices and quotations from paid clients can be tracked. 8. Technicians borrow assets from the company, and they can be tracked. 9. There is a database where every individual, from technicians to admin and clients, are all stored. 10. Login details from every individual are secured and they can only see things that are their business without seeing that of another person, be ita technician or a client. These and many more are what people in these industries face as a challenge. I came up with a solution that addresses all these problems. I built a workflow that also auto-populated the users table in the database with technicians and clients when the records are filled in the technician and client tables, respectively. There is also a workflow that sends an email to the admin when a client makes a request from the portal. Taking advantage of the database, workflow, and portal gave a full-blown application for the HVAC industry. Last Saturday, I was invited to speak to young Nigerian entrepreneurs on a WhatsApp audio group call, and told them the truth nobody wants to hear in a very brutal manner. I had to let them know that the market does not reward the best product. It rewards the most visible one. So we talked about a lot of things. Nothing important was left out. We covered: . Why saying "I am a fashion designer" is costing you money. Saying "I help 9-5ers sell ready-to-wear",sounds more direct and can be delivered to your target audience faster. . How to build on ONE platform for 90 days before touching another. . Why your costs can stay in naira while your revenue can comes in dollars is actually your advantage. . Getting on Google Business Profile so people can find you (yes, this is still a conversation we need to have). . Building a website because no website means no proof you exist. This is an actual way to build visibility beyond just posting on social platforms. . Getting certified, because a trade test certificate opens doors to Global Talent Visas in the UK, Canada, and Australia for you. . Sharing your knowledge for free on platforms like YouTube and selling to the audience who wants to go deeper can earn you income too as an entreprenuer. . Appearing on podcasts and at events to borrow audiences already built by someone else is a leverage you don't struggle to get compared to building from scratch yourself. We also talked about going global without leaving Nigeria. The session was free. The information was not cheap. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to them and I am so glad I sparked something in them. I am currently in a situation where I unintentionally carried another passenger bagco bag from the boot. When I got home to unpack, I discovered that the contents of the bag were different from mine. I placed my bag at the boot corner near my seat as I boarded the shuttle, but it appears that the driver changed the position because of space. What to do? I went back to the road in case the owner noticed and decided to come back to my junction, but I didn't see the person 🙁. The contents of the bag still have more things inside.
