Spending time with Britt Allcroft during the production of ‘An Unlikely Fandom’ is one of the highlights of my life. She truly inspired me to be who I am. It was so special spending time with her, getting to ask questions, hear stories, and learn.
We love you, Britt.

It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of Britt Allcroft.
The Allcroft-Wright family has asked me to bring this news to the Thomas fandom. A full obituary will be released in the London Times later today. The family is currently in mourning and asks that their privacy be respected at this time.
Britt was an adoring mother and wife. A visionary producer. She brought so much joy and happiness to people everywhere during her time on Earth.
Over the years of knowing Britt, we developed a close connection. It was truly a privilege to have her as both a mentor and a friend, and I’m so glad that so many fans were able to meet her at the New York screening of “An Unlikely Fandom”. It was an absolute honor to have her in our documentary, and she has since remained a vocal supporter of our cause.
I think I can speak for the entirety of the fandom when I say that all of us will deeply miss her. Without her, so many of us would never have met.
As a way to honor Britt's legacy, her family as asked that you consider making a charitable donation to your local chapter of the ASPCA in Britt's name.
While I am devastated by her passing, we can all find comfort in the certainty that her legacy will endure forever through Thomas and his fans around the world.
Rest in Peace.

Don’t get me wrong, publicly-owned railways are a very good thing. But I’m gonna miss the current GWR livery. It gives me all of the feels every time I’m in London.
Great Western Railways services will transfer into public ownership from 13 December 2026.

For the record, moving Thomas to YouTube actually gives it the largest audience it’s ever had. YouTube is consistently #1 in streaming, and many massive pre-school properties have found their audience through the platform (Ms. Rachel, Blippi, Peppa Pig).

I actually really like these.
The TM2 track system was terrible. Best choice ever to abandon it IMHO.
The boilers seem to suggest a new chassis and motor design. My only remaining wish is that they free roll!

The third and final item I purchased from the Britt Allcroft Auction is her script binder - with a complete pre-production script including handwritten revisions, pieces of her shooting script, and several storyboards and location scout photos.

As a Script Supervisor in the film industry, it’s my job to understand the script revision process and how pages are organized. There is so much in this binder, I’m still trying to figure it out. It’s like a glimpse inside Britt’s mind while making the film, and I’m decoding it.

The second item I purchased from the Britt Allcroft Auction is her personal TATMR production binder. It’s a treasure trove of documents from prep and production, including Call Sheets, Oneliners, Day out of Days, Travel Memos, Clearance agreements, and so much more.

Of course, all of this will be scanned and published for public viewing. But there’s a lot here, and some sensitive information (addresses, phone numbers, etc) that will have to be redacted. It’s going to take some time. But I’m working with Carty’s team to get this out there.

The first item I purchased from the auction is the TATMR A Cam Slate.
It is a huge honour in the industry to be given the slate face on the final day of production. It’s usually reserved for directors, DPs, and showrunners. It is a massive honour to be its new caretaker.

One of the coolest things about this is that the slate pen is still legible. The final slate of the film seems to be G138, but the dailies tapes should confirm that.
Untouched since December 15, 1999. I promise to guard her well.
