Cal OES Director Caroline Thomas Jacobs provides an update on the coordinated whole-of-government response to the Orange County chemical incident. While the risk of a catastrophic explosion has passed, the threat of a smaller explosion or chemical leak remains. Cal OES remains closely engaged with local partners to support the ongoing response and reminds those still impacted by evacuation orders to listen to local authorities.

Due to the threat of the BLEVE being eliminated, Fire & Law are re-evaluating the evacuation zones. Please do NOT enter the evacuation zones at this time. A press conference with more details will be at 6 pm at the Incident Command Post in Los Alamitos.
