I rarely engage with that much discussion on here, but the phrase “it’s ok to like bad games” is my top 1 least favorite phrase ever. It is such a condescending phrase and literally adds nothing of value to discussion. Despite what people tell you, there is no objectively in art.

While it’s important to acknowledge flaws in the things you enjoy, at the end of the day, if the parts you enjoy out way the flaws in your eyes, than it’s a good game. OP is a Superstars fan you think they’d understand how annoying it is for someone to call a game they like “bad”

It’s very interesting that Sakurai has said he’s based Sonic’s design solely on the games he’s played, which isn’t many before brawl, and has said the design isn’t completely faithful. it seems more like the simple controls of the classics than Sonic as a whole franchise. (1/2)
I think it’s funny that people think sakurai phoned it in for sonic when he clearly knew ball

While I definitely wouldn’t say he phoned it in, I would say I’m not a fan of this approach, as I feel the smash design doesn’t really encompass Sonic as a whole. It’s especially strange when he’s using his modern design, yet non of his move-set represents anything post 1996 2/2
