Hello folks, if you live in Leyton and Wanstead and need help with a local or personal issue, you can contact me in the following ways: ✉️ calvin.bailey.mp@parliament.uk 🌐 calvinbailey.co.uk/get-in-to… ☎️ 0207 219 7417 (Please note that my team and I may not always be available in the office to answer calls immediately, so email is best). Please ensure you provide your address, as we can only assist constituents within the Leyton and Wanstead area. 🏘️ Urgent personal issues will be prioritised over other correspondence. Not sure if I am your MP? 👉 Enter your postcode here: members.parliament.uk/FindYo… As your MP, I can support you with matters that relate to central government – things like immigration, benefits, the NHS, tax and pensions. If you want to contact us on an immigration issue, please use the immigration form on my website: calvinbailey.co.uk/immigrati… 💬If you believe you need a surgery appointment, please email us. My team includes specialised staff who are often best placed to assist with personal enquiries, so a meeting with me may not always be the most effective way to resolve your issue. However, if appropriate, my team will arrange an appointment for you. If your issue relates to local council services – such as bins, housing repairs, or parking – your local councillors will usually be the best place to start. 🚫I cannot help you in private disputes with neighbours, with an employer, with family matters or with companies that have sold you faulty goods, nor can I interfere in legal disputes or with decisions made by the police or the courts. But my team and I will always do our best to point you in the right direction. For more details see: calvinbailey.co.uk/advice My team and I are here to help where we can, and I kindly ask that all communications with my team are conducted respectfully. 🙏 We manage over a thousand pieces of casework each month with a small team, and any abusive language or behaviour will not be tolerated. calvinbailey.co.uk/acceptabl… Thank you! 🧡

Lauren needed a suitable adapted property due to a serious medical condition. After my office made representations to her housing association and the council, she was offered an appropriate property to move to. 🏡 Need help on a similar issue? Don’t hesitate to get in touch: calvin.bailey.mp@parliament.uk

The resignations of John and Al are deeply saddening and represent serious losses for our country. John’s leadership delivered real investments in our armed forces - in pay, in collaboration with our closest allies, and in forces housing that was left in an appalling state after 14 years of decay. 👇
John Healey has been a serious, committed and respected Defence Secretary, who has understood the scale of the threats facing the UK and the urgent need to strengthen our Armed Forces. I thank him for his service. The Government must take his warning with the utmost seriousness.

We must name what is happening in Belfast: it is organised racist violence which tramples the wishes of victims and their families. National security requires us not just to deal with the perpetrators, but with those who fuel it, often aligning with enemies abroad to do so. 👇

Great to shout out some of our small hospitality businesses in Parliament – Noted Pie & Mash, @homiesondonkeys, @BareBrewE11, City Place, and Fresh as a Daisy. 🍽️ I asked the Chancellor what she’s doing to support young families and renters locally 👇

Around 3,000 young people in Leyton & Wanstead are NEET and keen to work or train – but the system is failing them. 👇 Last week I met apprenticeship providers, education leaders and invited the Skills Minister to Whipps to push for real pathways into jobs for our young people.

Henry Nowak’s murder was a vile act, and all our thoughts should be with his family. Politicians need to respond by focusing on what happened and what needs to change. Instead, we’ve seen the likes of Farage disgracefully using this tragedy to fuel further violence. 👇

As someone who served alongside the 75th Ranger Regiment, whose predecessors landed on D-Day, I find it extraordinary that anyone would use those commemorations to sow division. The men who crossed those beaches fought for liberal democracy, not fear of the outsider. To use its commemoration to divide people is to misunderstand the very cause for which they fought.
Pete Hegseth in Normandy: Sadly, today different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies. In Spain and Italy and Greece and Bulgaria, boats and men arrive. When will European capitals do something about that invasion? Or is it too late?

82 years ago, on the beaches of Normandy, brave British and Allied forces changed the course of history forever. We must never forget the service and sacrifice of those courageous men and women. Our debt to them can never be repaid.

Today, we commemorate 82 years since the Normandy landings, beginning the liberation of Western Europe. We honour the bravery and sacrifice of all those who fought and defeated fascism. We will remember them.

Pride month should be a time for celebration and joy, but sadly, that isn’t what I’ve heard from LGBT constituents and allies over recent days. I intervened in Parliament’s Pride Month debate to ask for assurances that impacts from the EHRC guidance will be reviewed and addressed. 👇

This week we’ve seen positive steps towards prostate cancer screening. Sadly, Reform have chosen divisive race-baiting in response. I asked the Prime Minister to oppose Reform’s nonsense and stand with the men and their families at greatest risk from this terrible disease. 👇

We welcome tonight’s UNSC session on Lebanon. Escalation on this scale is not acceptable. All parties must implement a genuine and lasting ceasefire. Only a negotiated, diplomatic solution can deliver long term peace and security.
Israel’s military escalation in Lebanon has displaced civilians, destroyed infrastructure, and eroded space for diplomacy. It must end. Hizballah must end attacks on Israel and disarm. All parties must support negotiations towards a lasting political settlement.

Recently, I had the chance to visit the Peabody housing association office in the constituency and take a tour of the Oliver Road neighbourhood 🚶 Really glad I got to see the work being done on the ground - huge thanks to the team for what you do!

Tan is an outstanding parliamentarian and Defence Committee Chair. We must not let a murderer’s vile actions fuel division or hatred toward innocent people - or let that rhetoric go unchallenged. When one group is targeted, we all have a duty to speak up.
I was born and raised here. Countless brave Sikh soldiers died for Britain, proudly wearing their turban and kirpan. Thankfully, Rupert and Restore don't get to decide what is British. Beware … today they’re coming for me, but tomorrow it could be you!

What is wrong with you? Black men are at significantly higher risk of prostate cancer. This isn’t “two-tier Britain”. It’s basic medicine. The programme will save lives and the NHS money. That’s great news. Stop rage-farming and log off for a day. It might do you some good. 👍

Last week the National Screening Committee published a disappointing recommendation on prostate cancer. We’re expecting the Health Secretary’s response very soon and hopefully some better news. My explainer on where we are and what I want to see change 👇
