Happy World DNA Day 🧬 The Eagle, owned by @CorpusCambridge for over 500 years, is known as the place where James Watson and Francis Crick rushed from the nearby @DeptofPhysics to share news of their DNA discovery. Today, a plaque outside marks the moment, and has become a must-see stop for visitors. The current plaque actually replaced an earlier version, which did not acknowledge the wider team behind the discovery, most notably Rosalind Franklin and Maurice Wilkins. Chris Howe, President of Corpus Christi College, explores DNA Day, graffiti, and some of the often-overlooked stories behind the science.
