Knew Australia would low block, counter & had 3 tall defenders who are good in the air.
Ask why a star studded side scrapped into the WC. Couldn't deal with the counter, tried lobbing the ball in from the wings, rarely took on Aust defenders.

If u can be a team, work together, be strong defensively, follow a game plan & be really hard to beat, it should never be derided. The Aussie way isnt beautiful. That’s why sport is so great, the talented superstars don’t always win.

Australia's discipline & trust in D was outstanding. No diving in.... so structured & solid with threats up front. Took our chances with low hard strikes. Great performance - Popa put his faith in youth & agility to start & experience to finish - it paid off! Maybe our most complete World Cup performance.

Credit to these football players many will all be playing their 50th or 60th game this season & still put on a show. Going to be interesting to see how defences work when the World Cup Blue Chips begin getting sorted from the chaff in the Round of 32 section.
