Excited to present our #CVPR2025 ✨Highlight Paper "Blurred LiDAR for Sharper 3D."
We introduce a method for 3D Gaussian surfel reconstruction that combines RGB images with diffuse (blurred) LiDARs. Surprisingly, we find that these blurred LiDARs, often used as simple proximity sensors, can improve reconstruction quality over conventional mobile LiDARs for robust handheld scanning in challenging scenes.

Imagine millions of AI agents interacting, shaping our world. 🌍🤖 What if we could simulate entire societies to solve global challenges?
We're doing just that at @MIT. Introducing Large Population Models (lpm.media.mit.edu).
Here's how they work and why it matters...🧵
Congratulations to @cameraculture student Nikhil Behari on receiving the 2024 NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities (NSTGRO) Fellowship in support of his doctoral research proposal! media.mit.edu/posts/nikhil-b…

tl;dr: trick is think beyond traditional agents using our differentiable ABMs LLM archetypes
bonus: even with high-variance individuals, you can reproduce census-statistics surprisingly well!

Most recently, we helped the NZ govt track measles spread over their 5 million citizens and also helped design immunization programs for over 100 million people during Covid-19
Tl;Dr: think beyond agents (checkout our Archetypes)
Not really. We simulate 8.4 million agents to represent NYC for $1000 dollars. Trick is to think beyond agents (see our work: GitHub.com/AgentTorch/AgentT…)
AgentTorch (github.com/AgentTorch/AgentT…), built at @MIT, scales simulations to over 100 million agents (for ~$1000!)
Our models are helping immunize millions of people and track billions of dollars in supply chain, globally!
