The life span (and thus musical tastes) of writer-director @CameronCrowe are congruent with my own, so I expected a nice read. Turns out his path from teenage music journo to broad chronicler of culture makes this one of my favorite memoirs of recent memory.

I just finished your memoir and loved it! You have lived such an interesting life. I remember when Fast Times came out. I was a freshman at SDSU, and I thought Sean Penn stole the movie. It all rang true. I also loved Almost Famous. I've seen it many times.

The two books I ordered this week just arrived: “Future Boy” by Michael J. Fox (@realmikefox) and “The Uncool” by Cameron Crowe (@CameronCrowe).
For someone who was basically raised by movies, picking “favorite films” is almost impossible. But whenever I’m asked, the answer is always the same: “Almost Famous” and “Back to the Future” (My son’s name is Marty, for God’s sake).
Diving into the worlds of two of my lifelong heroes feels like medicine for the soul and fuel for everything that depends on it.
