Ganryu’s appeal lies in the way his personality shines through his movements. His attacks combine languid, swaying footwork with feints that seem almost mocking. His unique sense of distance and idiosyncrasies make him a very troublesome opponent when faced for the first time. However, if you observe his movements carefully, there comes a moment when you begin to recognise his rhythm. First, do not rush your attacks; instead, parry his strikes while assessing him. Then, once you have grasped his quirks, launch a relentless assault — that is the key to defeating Ganryu. Ganryu stands as a rival who repeatedly blocks Musashi’s path.
