Learnings From: Tsunami Brainrot! 🌊🧠
This was easily one of the most complex maps I’ve ever built. Packed with Events, and deep Trade/Shop systems. The challenges were steep, but the learning process was incredible 🧵👇
⚙️Mastering System Architecture: Building a map with this many moving parts required a deep dive into system design. I learned the hard way how to structure Verse code efficiently, how systems interact with one another, and most importantly how to completely rework a system from the ground up when the initial design doesn't scale.
💾 The biggest hurdle? Persistence. Saving player data, managing the custom Brainrot Index, and preventing data loss during session breaks pushed my system design skills to the absolute limit. We had to completely rework our system architecture from the ground up.
💥 Rule #1 of Game Dev: Players will always find the most creative, unexpected ways to break your game. Managing concurrency and computational errors when multiple heavy events fire at once was a nightmare. It forced me to write highly defensive logic to handle edge case exploits and session crashes.
⏺️Visual & Animation Polish: The technical side wasn't the only hurdle. We spent countless hours handling complex materials and testing many different techniques to ensure our animations remained silky smooth, even when the map was chaotic and resource heavy.
🤝 A massive shoutout to
@CapoFuture He was the ultimate morale booster. Whenever we hit a wall or felt like giving up, he kept the energy high. It’s truly thanks to his efforts and support that we managed to push through and made this map.
🚩Building this map was a massive level-up for my system design and Verse programming skills. It’s incredibly rewarding to see all these complex systems working together. Taking all these lessons straight into the next project! 🚀🛠️
